Excel vs. Google Sheets

- Not terrible but not everyone has Excel - Can upload to Google - Second best to CSV

- Not great - Some can work with, some not (interactive vs. image) - 9/10 times they can provide CSV

Database files

- Too many to name - Many old, proprietary - Ask if they can export as CSV or Excel - NO SCREENSHOTS OF DATA

Printed files

- Unless you want to go all Spotlight...
 

Ask for data nicely

If you have no other choice,pursue open records request (FOIA)

- FOIA is an act of war, takes congressional approval
