A course on implementing design thinking in human-computer interaction research.

At the end of this course...

Apply the principles of design thinking in human-computer interaction research

Explain and work through the design thinking process when doing research in human-computer interaction

Write a working research paper on any human-computer interaction area using design thinking

Grading System

  • 1.0 - Did the presentation, submitted the paper, did 2 paper-reading presentations, did at least 2 design thinking crash courses

Grading System - Subtractions

  • If did only one design thinking crash course: -0.25
  • If did not do any design thinking crash course: -0.5
  • If did only one paper-reading presentation: -0.25
  • If did not do any paper-reading presentation: -0.5
  • If paper is poorly written (a lot of grammatical errors or 'story-flow' of paper is poor): -0.25
  • If paper has some lacking parts or incomplete: -0.5
  • If did not submit any paper: -1.0
  • If did not presented at mini-conference: -0.5

Grading System - Notes to live by...

  • If after the grade subtraction, grade is < 3.0 then grade is INC
