What is JavaScript..?

  • JavaScript is not a spin-off of Java
  • Prototype based scripting language
  • Rules and revisions are governed through ECMAScript standards
It was named to make it sound related to Java which was a hot programming language then Prototypal languages are a style of OO languages where classes are not present and code re usability is through cloning functions which serve as prototypes

  • Decreases direct access to HTML
  • Provides a way to store state (data) in the web browser without using HTML
