Events
- Great way to see who's involved in the community. Companies like Etch, us, Hinge, Carswell Gould etc..

Getting the most out of events
- Talk to anyone and everyone
- Get involved
- Enjoy yourself
- Surrounded by like-minded people
- bring code, do a talk. Will help you learn by experimenting with something new, and also allows you to get feedback. Helps people remember you
- Relax and have fun. We're in this industry because we love what we do. Events should be no different.
After the event
- Twitter
- Write about it
- Find out when the next one is
- Talk to friends about the event. Bring them along. Raise awareness if you enjoyed it
- Helps you to articulate. Invaluable skill
- Online presence
- If you are talking about it, we can see that you enjoy this stuff. It can be hard to portray passion in a CV or in an interview.
Keeping Up to Date
- This industry moved quickly. It's important to understand the problem new things are trying to solve. Why they exist.
Expose Yourself
- It's about exposing yourself to as much new stuff as possible.
- Balance between actively finding information and letting it find you.
