Girl Develop It provides affordable and accessible programs to women who want to learn web and software development through mentorship and hands-on instruction.
Our vision is to create a network of empowered women who feel confident in their abilities to code and build beautiful, functional web and mobile applications.
Girl Develop It is a 501(c)3 non-profit which currently has active chapters in 34 cities throughout the United States and Canada.
40 cities will be home to active chapters by the end of 2014!
Girl Develop It - Detroit was founded in October 2012 by Michelle Srbinovich and Erika Carlson.
The Detroit chapter currently has over 1,200 members and is supported by a leadership team of 5.
Leeann Drees (that's me!), Cara Jo Miller (former), Michelle Srbinovich, Erika Carlson, Laura Eagin (former), and Nicole Rodriguez.

The Detroit chapter is currently the 5th largest and the 3rd most active chapter in the organization.
(We're also the most active Meetup.com group in Metro Detroit!)
