How does WordPress actually work?
Databases simply store data and retrieve it easily.
WordPress gives you a nice GUI, a way to interact with your database content.
GUI = Graphical User Interface. Pronounced "gooey"To administer your website, you'll always need to log in:
On the web: http://yourdomain.com/wp-admin
Locally:
example: http://localhost:8080/wordpress/wp-admin
The WordPress dashboard is the first screen you see when you log in to administration area of your site.
From the dashboard you can access pages, media, site settings, plugins... everything!
Visit your WordPress installation's dashboard
The first thing to take care of is configuring our user profile + settings!
