  • Was the program successful?
  • Did we do what we set out to do?
  • What impact did the program have on the community or target audience?
  • What did we learn from this experience that can be leveraged?
  • What didn’t work and why or why not?
  • What’s different as a result of our program?

How do we Evaluate?

Internal

Internal Evaluation requires upfront Staffing which needs

  • Staff with Expertise
  • Money to Fund this Staff

External

This is for organizations that..

  • Lack staff expertise
  • Want to avoid a bias evaluation

Content of the Evaluation Component

  • Was the hypothesis correct?
  • Were there specified methods used and were the objectives met?
  • Was the impact made?
  • How was the feedback of clients?
  • Was control maintained throughout the project?
  • Is there a need to make midcourse corrections to increase the chances of success?

Answers of these can determine the accomplishments of the evaluation

Quantifying or measuring and counting this uses averages, means, percentiles, etc.
