Annotation Studio

Collaborative annotation for teaching and learning

Simple, hosted, private, social annotation.

  • Who: Literature Prof. Wyn Kelley and others, NEH-funded.
  • How: Driven by lots of feedback from users, open source.
  • Done: Word and PDF upload/conversion, annotation tagging and filtering, user groups, multi-tenancy, public documents.
  • Next: User idea organization/outlining, import/export of documents for writing, multimedia annotations, color-coded categorization of annotations, visualization.

Comédie Française Registers Project

A dataset of ticket sales from the Comedie Française Theater in Paris from 1680-1793

  • Who: History Prof. Jeff Ravel, with Comedie Française, Université de Paris-Nanterre, Sorbonne, Harvard and Hyperstudio
  • How: Manually written records are manually entered into a database
  • Done: Tools for data entry, a completed data set, and a RESTful JSON web API
  • Next: publication, search, filter, visualize, mashups
