Applying to (CS) Graduate School

About me

  • Rich industry experience: MSRA, Google, Baidu IDL
  • Some research experience: One A+ conference paper
  • Average GPA: ~3.6
  • Experienced Illustrator / Double major in Psychology
  • GT doesn't matter

Where I applied

Mostly CS/HCI programs. Some ECE/network programs.

Spend solid time on researching the programs.

WHY Study Abroad

Probably the most important part of the entire application proccess
My case: Why I chose graduate school over industry opportunities

Really know WHAT you want

PhD(Academic)? Master(Academic/Industry)? Faculty, Location, Courses, etc... Find your passion.

Why I chose Cornell Tech

  • Small program, nice faculty
  • Interesting Course settings
  • New York City ;)
  • Never be too obssessed with the so-called "Ivy League". (But it always works for parents)

Statement of Purpose

Find your story

To tell a good story is hard.
My case: Seemingly incoherent experience in various fields

Statement of Purpose

Celebrate yourself
