Daniil 101

Made in Russia.

Born in Siberia

and lived on the Black Sea coast.

It was NOT all about drinking tea with bears...

but also hard core schooling:

lots of math sciences since grade 5 rather outdated computer education

and some bear riding...

on the weekends.

18 year down the road...

I am studying Electrical and Computer Engineering

at U(t)

from 2007 till 2012

Very diverse curiculum:

  • A lot of science and math.
  • Starting with C programming
  • Continuing with some Java

Tons of fun stuff:

  • Implementating distributed version of MazeWar game
  • Developing inference algorithms in MatLab
  • Some hacking in computer security course (along with Aaron)

Co-op

At Cast Software.

Testing AutoCad-like application

that Rob was developing.

After graduating

Desire to do Software Engineering...

Lack of software development experience.

Trying out things at home... while applying for jobs :)

Working at Artez Interactive

supporting data team and doing some R&D.

Company technology stuck:

  • Visual Studio with Team Foundation
  • MS SQL Server
  • Selenium for testing

Asside from working with existing tools...

I got to try a few technologies:

Some machine learning and inference for fraud prevention

Yeah, more like this:

Distributed data store using Cassandra and PlayORM

A simple Grales client

Unfortunately not enough resources

to go in deapth in the R&D projects.

But great learning experience.

Interests

  • Object Oriented Design
  • Machine learning and inference algorithms
  • Web development and distributed computations

I like sports

  • Soccer
  • Volleyball
  • Hockey

I like outdoors

  • Hiking
  • Kayaking
  • Guitar singing by campfire

And obviously I like

  • Dominion
  • Planking

Aspirations:

To become software engineer

and to learn Spanish!

Happy to be here at OTPP.

I am eager to learn and to contribute.

Gracias amigos!
