Canakit: Pi, power cord, case, HMDI cable, SD card w/NOOBS

Setup

plugin HDMI, mouse, keyboard, ethernet, THEN power

Install Raspbian

select Raspbian, Install, Confirm

dance break as it loads

Enable SSH

Advanced Options A4 SSH enable Finish
sudo reboot

Login & GUI

username: pi password: raspberry
startx

Configure Internet

LXTerminal
ifconfig
make a note of inet address
ping 8.8.8.8
press Ctrl+C to stop the ping

SSH into Pi

Using Putty or Terminal,

ssh pi@10.0.1.25
"authenticity of host can't be established" Yes, you're sure. password: raspberry

Install Java

sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get install oracle-java7-jdk

java -version

Install Minecraft Server

or more specifically, Spigot

sudo wget http://ci.md-5.net/job/Spigot/lastSuccessfulBuild/artifact/Spigot-Server/target/spigot.jar

Launch Server

sudo java -Xms256M -Xmx496M -jar spigot.jar

loading libraries, please wait

mushrooms, pumpkins, zombies

preparing spawn area

Verify Server

open Minecraft Add Server IP address of Pi Join Server

congratulations

IT'S ALIVE

now, kill it:

stop

Optimize Server

sudo nano server.properties
copy the config file found here relaunch server
op [your minecraft nickname]
stop Install NoSpawnChunks
cd /home/pi/plugins
sudo wget http://dev.bukkit.org/media/files/586/974/NoSpawnChunks.jar
Install ClearLagg
cd /home/pi/plugins
sudo wget http://dev.bukkit.org/media/files/791/600/Clearlag.jar
relaunch server
plugins

PRESS PLAY
