TheAlphaNerd

Things about me

and why I like making things

Created by Myles Borins / @the_alpha_nerd

Hai my name is

Myles

I am a graduate student at ccrma

The Center for Computer Research in Music and Acoustics

I work at Djz

Mostly hacking with JavaScript

I also do some research for Cycling 74

But more about that later

I like to make things

Things that make light

Things that make sound

But what I like making most...

are things that help people to make things

This concept was originally

inspired by Bret Victor's Talk

"Inventing on Principle"

I first explored it during my thesis at OCAD

Lately I have found that this guiding principle

Is present in most of my work

At Djz we make things

That help people make music

At CCRMA I contribute to Satellite CCRMA

A linux distribution that helps people make embedded instruments

In my spare time

I contribute code to

flocking.js

A library for doing audio synthesis in the browser

All this making stuff has made me tired though

So I've started making things that generate the things that help people make things

So How About I tell you About

Faust2WebAudio

The End
