What's wrong with most web type?

It's too small.

The monitor is farther from your face than a book would be.

There's too many (or too few) characters per line.

A good rule of thumb is to keep it between 45 and 75.

There's too many typefaces.

It's better to use one typeface with different weights, or a two type pairing that have a shared trait.

Some Typography Terms & Definitions

Leading

The distance between two baselines, or the amount of space between lines.

Tracking & Kerning

The amount of space between characters.

Alignment

Rules are great and all, but...
